Alex Taylor is a writer and creative director with over 20 years of experience making advertising, web comedy and branded content. He is currently an EVP / Executive Creative Director at Le Truc, running creative on P&G’s Tide, while working across a range of accounts. And he continues to partner directly with his beloved hometown NBA team, the Sacramento Kings.
Prior to Le Truc, he was an ECD at Dentsu Creative, running Subway, Totino’s Pizza Rolls, Fruit by the Foot, Audible and Manhattan Mini Storage. Before Dentsu he was an ECD at TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, where he led agency creative on MTN DEW, Bubly and Nissan Heisman House.
He spent five years as a freelance Creative Director, winning pitches and launching brand campaigns at agencies like Droga5, Wieden + Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, TBWA\Chiat\Day NY, Johannes Leonardo, Crispin, Porter + Bogusky, Grey NY and Saatchi & Saatchi London.
Before freelance, he was a VP / Creative Director at BBDO New York where he helped create the Foot Locker “Approved” campaign, and led well-known and award-winning work for brands like Snickers, AT&T, FedEx, Mountain Dew and Champs Sports. All while contributing to BBDO NY being named the Creativity Agency of the Year.
He also co-created and directed the web series Hikea in which real people on hallucinogenic substances attempt to build Ikea furniture. He co-created and wrote the web cartoon The Exploding People which was a weekly fixture on Funny or Die. And he wrote the short film Killing the Coat (dir. Aaron Stoller) which was a Vimeo Staff Pick and premiered at the Brooklyn Short Film Festival.
He consistently creates work that breaks into popular culture, having been featured on The Today Show, CNN, Real Time with Bill Maher, Fast Company, New York Magazine, ESPN, Bleacher Report, TBS Funniest Commercials of the Year (#1) and in the print edition of The New York Times. And he’s been repeatedly acknowledged by the industry with Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, D&AD Pencils, ADC Cubes, Clios, Sports Clios and many other international advertising awards.
